Kuala Lumpur declared a state of emergency in Sarawak on September 14, 1966, aiming to remove Stephen Kalong Ningkan as Sarawak first chief minister. The Emergency (Federal Constitution and Constitution of Sarawak) Act 1966 granted the Sarawak governor absolute legislative powers, bypassing the advice of the chief minister. The crisis revolved around issues of state autonomy and federal interference The May 13, 1969 riots in Malaysia had significant implications for Sarawak’s oil and gas rights. During that period, the country was under a state of emergency, and the government enacted the Petroleum Development Act 1974 (PDA). Under the PDA, Sarawak’s oil rights were granted away without the consent of its people. The emergency proclamations in Sarawak continue until 2011 The PDA’s validity remains a topic of discussion between Sarawak and the federal government. Here’s why: *State of Emergency: The PDA was enacted during a state of emergency in 1974. Parliament was suspended, and the entire country was under a caretaker government. While the emergency was lifted in 2011, some argue that legislation passed during that period may no longer be valid. *Oil Royalties: Sarawak seeks higher oil royalties. The current 5% royalty is considered insufficient. Sarawak’s annual oil and gas revenue could exceed RM70 billion *Sarawak asserts that the Oil Mining Ordinance 1958 (OMO), not the PDA, governs its oil and gas rights. The OMO predates the PDA and remains relevant for Sarawak. in short, Sarawak, Sabah and Singapore has bitter start . it expelled Singapore. It revolved around issues of state autonomy and subsequently removed Sarawak first Chief Minister and meddles state law on Oil Mining Ordinance. it disclosed not much on the death of The chief minister of Sabah and his cabinet ministers died in mysterious circumstances, Known as the "66 Air Crash" in history. The next day on June 7, the acting chief minister of Sabah immediately signed a 5% petroleum tax without asking for further negotiations. Sarawak followed closely and signed a 5% petroleum tax.

About Chinese school, my sarawak Is top 1 in Malaysia have more than 230 Chinese schools. But who cares? Carlsberg come sarawak during I love Chinese education program and raise 2.5m. After carlsberg no one come. Then adenam take care, najib have give donation 18 million and now GPS take care. So this y u all can see no any political party from sarawak or GPS back this Tiger. Somemore Tiger sponsor rimbunan hijau and also sin chiew daily boss didn't give any comment. Dap sarawak also quiet. Why? Cos we never have any sponsors from Tiger. 30 years 542 school tiger claims they help no one is from East Malaysia. This is fact. And about GPS former know as BN sarawak is doing good jobs here in sarawak. We sarawakian believe BN and now GPS will be good and more good. Dap or PH is nothing in sarawak soon next PRN and PRU we will vote them out.

Tiger Donation 🐅 Frustrated because SKC or SKT standard of Education is 100x more advanced compared to SKM. If a child needs quality education provided by Qualified Teachers, then send our kids to Chinese or Tamil schools. Politician children are all in International Schools. Is PMX grandchildren going to Sekolah Kebangsaan????

Today most of the projects like bridges for caastal areas costing RM20 billion, Water RM4.2 billion, Electricity for rural areas RM2.4 billion and other infrastructures is using Sarawak Government Money not from Federal Government. Sarawak is the only state in Malaysia paying back PTPTN loan RM90.42 million for Sarawak students. When PKR became Government few years ago many projects stop in Sarawak that is why today Sarawak Government doesn't want to use money from Federal Government because it will slow down development in Sarawak...

Malay is minority in Sabah and Sarawak. LKY used that to exert and manipulate his 40-40-20 argument on Malaysian Malaysia . With Singapore 1965 secret exit and betrayal , the balance of power is gone at Federal Parliament level and Rahman Yakub took over as the UMNO invisible hand in Sarawak . NOW It is the balance of power in Sarawak which makes multi racial policy works .Sarawak and Sabah have long been robbed and negelcted of our rights and it is time to DEMAND it back . We want full reinstatement of MA63 right , which has been long neglected and overdued .

When come to development in Sarawak, Federal Government seem don't care about it example Sarawak CIQS in Tebedu look like (Reban Ayam) chicken coop according to Abang Johari compared to PLBN in Entikong West Kalimantan very modern. That is the busiest entry point for border crossing between Sarawak and Kalimantan. Another one is CIQS in Serikin haven started yet meanwhile PLBN Jagoi Babang in West Kalimantan already completed. I hope the Federal Government will look into these matter seriously.....

Go back to the real history .The MA63 is a con job manipulated by LKY and Tunku and the British for their own interest. Anyone ever ask the question on why Singapore is left out on the discussion of MA63 ? Why Malaysia in the first place ? And what happen after Singapore separated from Malaysia by secret negotiation with Malaya , without the consent and knowledge of Sabah and Sarawak people? Ask why ? Go back to the real sejarah on the formation of Malaysia

To some, it seems that liquors practically guarantee your fate as drunkards? Drinking liquor in practically all regions where they have to go through winters. I used to ask a close friend who had been sailing across the Atlantic Ocean during the winter about keeping away from strong liquor. He replied that with a "se-tengah", he would not be able to survive. I had never saw him getting out of "control"; though om one occasion, a lady across our table was staring at him and I told to "slow" as it would that she was ready to confront him. His reply " I hope she doesn't! I am ready to slap her to interfere with my life!"

Hi Dr. OKM and Mr. Money, I have some comments on this episode. With regards to Sarawak claiming their rights, why last time don't claim? I think OKM has answered part of it, that the late Tun Taib is busy governing Sarawak his way. I would add on that he is partly involve in passing the PDA 1976 as an MP back then. Secondly, Tun Wan Junaidi also mentioned during his interview with KS that Sarawak only starts claiming the rights under MA63 after the federal government repeal ISA and emergency proclaimation in 2011. It is not worth to venture into MA63 only to be detain under ISA or any of the emergency power that the federal government has at that time. Another reason I think is that prior to 2018 election, the Sarawak component party is under BN, and they are subjected to certain controls by the strong BN component party and have to adhere to party direction. The late Datuk Patinggi Adenan lay the ground work for reclaiming rights under MA63 which then continued by Abang Joe. On DAP and PKR in Sarawak, I personally feel that the current DAP assembliment is lack of capacity to build bridges between the state and federal government. If you are able to look at the DUN hansard or watch the DUN session, you will understand. Still shouting like opposition instead of laying good ground works in Sarawak. We definitely need some quality Adun just like OKM and Dr Kellvin Yii.

With the participation of China e.g. Huawei in 2nd 5G, it will likely overtake 1st 5G Ericsson by offering 6G or 7G ready technology. China rollout of technology into the ecosystem is very fast just like EV, HSR, eWallet, AI etc. We’re in the China’s science, technology and business trading hegemony era. The western counterparts are unable to catch up with China.

Why didn't claim, well it was all about Taib. That said Taib didn't allow umno into Sarawak which was the mistake Sabah..Sarawak now has leaders who are keen to develop Sarawak and they may be modelling it after Singapore etc but that doesn't matter. As long as they govern Sarawak well, kudos to them . Yes migrating to Sarawak will be good if Malaya politicians keep messing the country around while diverting attention to race and religion to rile people up. And totally jaguh Kampung issue they beat their chest

Sarawak DAP leader CCJ is very incompetent. I wonder why, after the last state election, DAP still sticks with him. No election strategy at all, just badmouth GPS all the time, always rely on urban vote, no effort to penetrate rural areas at all. Even after becoming government, he still has the opposition mentality. Next election, DAP confirm wipeout from DUN Sarawak. Please give way to other la before it's too late. Unfortunately we cannot have a discussion without politicising the beer issue. To me, this isn’t actually a race/religion issue. Im not Malay or Muslim but I am also not supportive of the presence of Beer companies in schools incl in indirect charity events. If it were not for the politicking we could have had a more mature discussion on a compromise guideline e.g. allowing donations from beer companies including naming these companies, but no logos and other forms of advertisements. This is pure speculation but I have a hunch that some other developed companies also probably do not allow donations in schools in a similar manner??

Applying for membership and actually being accepted is entirely a different thing. There is no guarantee that Malaysia application will be accepted. Many other countries also apply and BRICS only accepts a handful of countries to be full members. BRICS will evaluate which country can offer good value and contribution to the group. Not any Tom, Dick and Harry countries which apply will get it. That needs to be told.
